Production statistics
Losses between wort and packaging, brewhouse yield, tank utilisation and cycle time over the last 12 months.
Statistics are calculated from your batches over the last 12 months. Only what was recorded counts. Nothing missing is filled in, and the screen says how many tanks were left out of a figure.
Beer lost along the way
How much beer was lost between wort and packaging, in hectolitres and as a percentage. In microbreweries it is usually 8 to 12 %.
- Where the beer goes splits the loss into legs: wort, after fermentation, after maturation, after filtration, packaged.
- A leg counts only the tanks with a volume recorded at both of its ends. If you want to know where you lose beer, record the volume along the way too.
- Dumped and cancelled tanks have their own line and are kept out of the loss percentage.
Brewhouse yield
How much extract made it from the malt into the wort. It is calculated from your own analysed grain bill and the measured wort gravity, not from tables.
- Average, lowest and highest yield.
- By recipe: recipes from the lowest yield, each with its average, range and number of tanks.
- Batch by batch: a list from the newest brew day.
Recipe versus reality
Compares wort gravity, final gravity and wort volume with what the recipe says. The deviation is in units, not percent. Next to the average deviation is the Spread. When it is clearly higher, the brewhouse is not aiming wrong, it is swinging.
Vessel utilisation
How many tank-days the tanks actually held beer. You see Cellar utilisation as a percentage and a By vessel list, least used first.
- Only recorded occupancy counts, not plans or estimates.
- Two brews in one tank do not occupy it twice.
- A vessel bought or retired during the year counts only for the days it was in service.
Tank cycle time
From the first brew day to closing the tank. You see the average, shortest and longest cycle, and under Where the time sits a breakdown by phase. Each phase also shows its deviation in days against the recipe.
Kegs
If you track kegs, statistics also show Keg turnover and Kegs by size.
Losses, yield and utilisation for the last seven days also arrive in the evening daily summary.
