Tasks for operators

The brewer assigns extra work with a due date and a place. Operators see it on the phone in the morning and tick it off when done.

Tasks are extra work assigned by the brewer. Readings, cleaning and brew days do not belong here. They follow from the batches, and operators see them on screens of their own.

Assigning a task

  1. In the office, open Tasks and click Assign a task.
  2. In What needs doing, write the task, for example "Check the cooling on CKT3".
  3. Choose the Due date.
  4. Under Where, choose a vessel or a piece of equipment. Leave a task that is not done at a particular vessel as No location.
  5. Fill in the Note if needed and click Assign task.

Tasks can be assigned and cancelled by a brewer and above. Operators can only complete a task; they cannot create one themselves.

Tasks on the phone

  • The Today screen shows open tasks due today, plus older ones that were not done in time.
  • Missed tasks are at the top, labelled Overdue. Tasks due later do not appear on the phone.
  • You also see a vessel's tasks when you scan its label.
  • After scanning a workplace label, you see the tasks for the vessels in that place, plus all tasks with no location.

Tick off a finished task with Done.

Cancelling a task

When a task is no longer needed, the brewer cancels it in the office with Cancel. They can write why it is no longer needed. Completed and cancelled tasks are listed under Closed.

Reporting a fault

At a vessel on the phone, an operator can tap Report a fault. They write what is going on and tap Send to the brewer. The brewer sees the fault among the tasks.

How operators work with the Today screen and scanning is described in Entering measurements by phone.
