Stock and packaging
Materials, lots and suppliers
Receive a lot with its analysis, put a label on the sack and usage is deducted through the batch. The app watches your minimum stock.
Material stock is kept by lot. Each delivery of one material is one lot. Usage is recorded on the batch, so you know which lot went into which batch.
Receiving a lot
- In Stock tap Receive a lot.
- Choose the Material and enter the Lot code as printed on the sack or the delivery note.
- Fill in Amount, Supplier, Received and Use by.
- Under Lot analysis fill in what you know: Alpha acid (%), Extract (% dry) and Colour (EBC). These fields are optional.
- Tap Receive.
The analysis drives dosing and yield calculations. If you do not have the figures, leave the fields empty. A made-up number is worse than none.
Lot labels
Under Lot labels you print a QR label for each sack. It carries a short brewery code for the lot that can be typed by hand if needed. Print on A4 label sheets with 70 × 37 mm cells.
Usage in a batch
Stock is deducted when the weighed amount is recorded:
- On brew day the crew scans the lot label at the step, weighs and enters the amount.
- In the office you record it on the batch detail with Record the bill. The figures are prefilled from the recipe, scaled to the wort volume. Overwrite them with what the scale said.
- Additions to the tank, such as dry hopping, are recorded by the crew from the tank card with Add material.
An expired lot can still be recorded; the app just flags it. If you record more than stock shows, the entry is saved and the app asks you to check the lot balance.
Minimum stock
You can set a Minimum for each material. It is compared with the free amount: whatever planned batches have claimed is subtracted from the balance. A material below its minimum shows on the Overview, and in stock it is marked below minimum or out of stock. Nothing is blocked by it.
Suppliers
You enter the supplier by name when receiving a lot, and the app creates it automatically. With the commerce part of the app you also get the Suppliers screen with deliveries and purchase prices excluding VAT. Prices are visible to brewers and management only.
