Kegs: circulation, washing and complaints

Every keg has a QR label and its own history. You know where it is, how often it turns over in a year and which kegs sit too long.

Every keg is tracked on its own in the app, with a QR label and its own history. You know what has been in it, where it is now and when it last moved.

Creating kegs

Kegs are created in bulk. In Settings open Keg management and choose the Size, How many and the Fitting. Then print the Keg labels and stick them on the kegs.

Washing, shipping and returns

On the phone, kegs are scanned into a list, not one at a time:

  1. On the Scan screen tap Several kegs at once.
  2. Choose what is happening to the kegs: Washing, Shipping or Returned.
  3. Hold keg after keg up to the camera.
  4. At the end confirm the whole list, such as Record washing: 12 kegs.

When a keg's state does not match, the app warns you but does not block. Note that washing a full keg pours the beer away and writes it off.

A wrong movement is not overwritten but cancelled, and it stays struck through in the history. The crew can cancel their own movements from today, the brewer any movement.

Filling kegs during packaging is covered in Packaging into kegs with the camera.

Where the kegs are

The Kegs screen in the office shows:

  • Kegs in circulation and Turnover, how many times the average keg turned over in the past year,
  • Where the kegs are: the groups New, Washed, Full in stock, Shipped and Returned,
  • By keg size: whether you have enough washed kegs of the size you are going to fill,
  • Sitting too long: unwashed over 7 days, full in stock over 60 days, out over 30 days.

A keg came back full

For a full keg, choose the reason: Shipped by mistake, Customer did not want it or Complaint. In the first two cases the keg goes back to stock and may leave again.

A keg under complaint must not leave or be washed until the brewer decides. The brewer settles it on the keg card with Settle the complaint and chooses The beer is fine or Pour it away. The card also shows which other kegs with the same beer are out.
