Getting started: setting up your brewery

After you first log in, the First setup guide is waiting for you on the overview. It shows what you need to do before you can brew your first batch. From sign-up to your first batch it takes about 30 minutes.

The guide's steps

1. Site: basic details of your brewery.
2. Brewhouse: the brewhouse you brew on.
3. Vessels: tanks and other vessels in the cellar.
4. Recipes: at least one recipe to brew from.
5. Materials: raw materials and their lots. The step is ticked off only once you add a lot, because without one there is nothing to use on brew day.
6. People: invite your colleagues. This step is optional; a one-person brewery can skip it.

You can do the steps in any order and skip any of them; the guide never blocks you. A step ticks itself off as soon as what it asks for exists in the app, even if you created it outside the guide. You can close the guide card at any time.

Your first week

Once the guide is done, the First week checklist appears on the overview. It takes you through a small version of the whole production cycle:

• create a batch,
• enter a measurement,
• complete a brew day step,
• record the materials used.

QR labels and the phone

Stick the QR labels from the set we supply on your vessels. Operators then enter measurements by scanning, see Entering measurements by phone.

You can also set up workstations, such as the brewhouse or the cellar, and put their label on the door. Scanning it shows the work for the vessels in that place. Workstations are set up in Settings.

Operators use the app on their phones. We recommend adding it with Add to home screen; on an iPhone, notifications (for example when a rest ends) only work that way.
